Dry across the UK at the start of this period with clear or sunny spells for the majority of places. Cloud will likely thicken across the far north and northwest during the weekend with some outbreaks of rain for a time. There is also a small risk of some heavy showers in the far south or southwest. Through the following week, high pressure will be dominant across the UK. This will bring predominantly fine and dry weather for the majority of places. A few light showers are possible at times, but heavy rainfall is not expected. Temperatures are likely to be slightly above normal for the time of year, although there is a chance of some cold nights.
