Feeling colder with sunshine giving way to mostly cloudy skies.
Today:
Dry this morning with sunny periods. More in the way of cloud developing through this afternoon but staying largely dry. Isolated showers in the north by this evening. Breezier than yesterday and feeling colder. Maximum Temperature 9C.
Tonight:
Showers pushing southwards this evening, these heaviest in the north and west, falling as snow and hail over the highest ground. Frost and ice possible away from windward coasts. Breezy. Minimum Temperature 0C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Staying on the cold side through this period with overnight frosts possible. A mixture of cloud, sunny/clear intervals and showers, wintry on hills, though these easing by the weekend.
UK Outlook for Saturday 15 Mar 2025 to Monday 24 Mar 2025:
The weekend will continue on a cool theme, but with the high pressure to the north becoming more dominant it should lead to a reduction in shower activity seen on previous days. So there should be a good deal of dry weather with plenty of sunshine by day, but still some noticeably chilly nights with frost fairly widespread. The odd fog patch is possible in the north, and a brisk breeze across the south will make it feel notably chilly here on Saturday. Next week is likely to see a gradual transition to less settled conditions as the high likely withdraws to the east. So rain or showers at times, mostly focussed across the south, the north perhaps staying largely dry and it is also likely to become much milder.
